The late-night members club has been sold to an 'International Club Brand'
The Milton Club has announced its immediate closure at Milton Hall on Deansgate.
The late-night members club, named after the great English poet John Milton, revealed the news via a statement on Facebook.
They said: 'The Milton Club has been sold to an International Club brand, and we are excited for what they have to bring to the scene, we wish them all the best for the future.
'We are proud to have hosted many fantastic events and weekly parties. Our members and regular guests have been key to the huge success and incredible nights over the years, so a huge thanks to you.'
Opened in December 2013, the 'sumptuously-designed' Milton Club became a regular haunt for soap stars, footballers and reality TV slebs.
An employee of the venue told Confidential that the venue remains closed indefinitely, and that it was not yet clear whether the new owners would reopen the club in its current guise, or rebrand and relaunch later this year.
They said staff had been made aware of the closure on Saturday, with some made redundant and others moved to the club's sister venue, Dive Bar in Northern Quarter.
Confidential has contacted the venue's owners for further comment.
