Police are appealing for witnesses after shotgun shots were fired through a front door and window of a house on Claife Avenue, Moston, at around 1am on Monday 21 July.
Detective Sergeant Alex Wild of North Manchester division said: “Thankfully no-one was hurt, but whenever firearms are used there is always a risk that someone will be seriously hurt or killed, whether that is the intended target or an unrelated member of the public.
“We are at the early stages of our enquiries and working hard to piece together what has happened, but we do believe this was a targeted incident and not a random attack upon members of the public going about their business.
“If you witnessed what happened, or you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at that time, please contact police immediately.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 3544 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
