FOREVER MANCHESTER is running a Manchester Music Amnesty, asking the people of Greater Manchester to donate their unwanted CDs, DVDs and video games.

Of course, nobody is asking you to hand over your treasured copy of Nevermind or OK Computer, that’s a given, but if you’ve got a CD, DVD or video game collection that is boardering on hoarder status, Forever Manchester is here to take a few off your hands.

Music_Amnesty %281%29Now, instead of burying that copy of Big Momma’s House at the back of your DVD collection, you can turn your bad film choices into cash for people in your local communities to use to improve where you live.

Do you really need all those old discs clogging up your home? We’ve got iTunes and Netflix now, the CD stacker’s days are numbered.

Companies can get involved in the scheme by becoming a Manchester Music Amnesty Collection Point.

Forever Manchester will provide the posters, a pre-prepared email to send to staff and contacts, and branded boxes for people to drop off their unwanted items. They’ll also arrange to collect the boxes when they’re full.

All collection points will be listed on a dedicated page on their website, which will announce to the people of Greater Manchester the companies that are supporting the Manchester Music Amnesty project.

Forever Manchester 2Forever Manchester uses an asset-based community development approach, identifying the strengths and skills that are already present in our neighbourhoods, and using those resources to make a lasting change.

This is charity the Mancunian way. Helping local people do extraordinary things together – building communities from the inside out, and encouraging the true, creative, entrepreneurial spirit of Greater Mancunians to emerge.
