Thousands of fans will flock to Stevenson Square to give GET BAKED a warm welcome on their opening weekend
Renowned bakery GET BAKED opens in Manchester’s Northern Quarter this weekend, and fans are already flocking to get a taste.
Founded by Rich Myers in 2011, the brand first began its life in his mum’s kitchen in Leeds before being catapulted into global recognition thanks to viral social media posts highlighting its larger-than-life bakes including the deliciously monstrous ‘Bertha’ (previously named ‘Bruce’ after the gluttonous character from Roald Dahl’s Matilda) - a 24-layer behemoth cake topped with milk and dark chocolate ganache.

It’s now one of the fastest growing dessert brands in the UK and, to keep up with incredible demand, the brand has made its way across the Pennines, deciding to open a sister site in Manchester’s vibrant Stevenson Square.
The venue will serve up desserts (obviously) as well as soft serve ice cream, coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and plenty of nostalgia.
GET BAKED Manchester will soft launch today, opening for business officially on Saturday 15 March at 12pm and treating the first 1,000 customers in the queue to a free slice of Bertha - no purchase required, although you’d be a fool not to give their other baked goods a try, too.
Free slices are strictly limited to one per customer with GET BAKED stating this very clearly on their social media, albeit in their hilariously tongue-in-cheek tone adding ‘I don’t care how dead your dad is’.
