PICTURE Spanish style and culture. Red and black costumed dancers, delicious tapas dishes, glasses of sangria...not to mention blazing sunshine.

Blazing sunshine is so Manchester. That's probably why Manchester College students brought a slice of Spanish style to La Tasca's Deansgate restaurant.

The newly refurbished basement is only the second sangria bar in the UK for the La Tasca chain. It was transformed with a fashion catwalk and students artwork adorning the walls.
Students from various levels and art courses at the College had the chance to showcase their work to a panel of judges, including fashion industry insiders such as The Manchester Fashion Network's Dale Hicks. Sangria, Spanish fashion designs and free tapas nibbles ensured the basement room was packed full. Parents, tutors and friends turned out to celebrate the hard work of not only fashion design students but fine art, graphic design and also hair and beauty students.
Entertainment included a paso doble style performance from two young ballroom dancers fresh from a recent European competition win.
