MARKS & SPENCER has started work on a top-to-bottom makeover of its 110,000 sq ft Market Street store in central Manchester.
Blackburn-based contractor Audas, continuing a long relationship with M&S, will undertake the work. The architects are NJSR of Southport.
The café will more than double in size, there will be a new look for the food hall including a new deli counter and bakery, along with updated clothing displays.
Throughout the store changes, M&S said customer disruption will be kept to a minimum and the store will continue to trade as normal.
The store improvements are due to be completed this summer. No project cost was disclosed.
