SPLENDID Kitchen has just launched a new menu that makes lunch hour lethargy a thing of the past. For under £5, you can escape the office and tuck into a home-cooked, eat-in lunch that’ll cheer you up and make you glow.
The new menu launch follows Splendid’s rebranding from Splendid Sausage Company to Splendid Kitchen in December
Splendid’s very British take on the best of American cooking has that effect. The lunch menu offers meaty Po’ Boy subs, filling-packed grilled cheese sandwiches, not so-humble jacket potatoes, and six varieties of mac and cheese. They describe it as ‘Northern Soul Food’ and prices start from just £3.
The new menu launch follows Splendid’s rebranding from Splendid Sausage Company to Splendid Kitchen in December. Locally-sourced sausages and hand-made burgers are still a big thing there, but they now offer a lot more, including a new evening menu of small plates and big plates, and the new lunch menu.
Says owner Mike Edge, “The new lunch menu is us reacting to the needs and wants of our customers and the great local demand for quality, hearty, home-cooked dishes for a similar price as what you’d pay for a sandwich from a chain.”
The Lunch for a Fiver Menu is available Monday-Friday, 12pm-5pm. Splendid Kitchen is on John Dalton Street, just off Albert Square. Takeaway option also available.
