IT’S BUSINESS as usual over at Living Ventures HQ following the untimely death of its founder, Tim Bacon, last month.

Next up for the voracious brand is the gilt-pavemented suburb of Alderley Edge

Nothing less than the hospitality mogul would have expected.

The restaurant and bar group will launch their eleventh Manchester venue next week when its cocktail bar brand Red Door launches beneath Botanist on Deansgate, whilst LV continues to expand southwards with openings in Oxford and Marlow for the New World Pub Company, and new sites in Leamington and Birmingham for the group’s Italian restaurant chain, Gusto.

Meanwhile, the expansion of their upmarket cocktail bar and restaurant brand Alchemist – first opened in Manchester’s Spinningfields in 2011 - continues apace following a £18m private equity boost from Palatine, with new sites announced in Liverpool, Newcastle and Birmingham.

Next up for the voracious brand is the gilt-pavemented suburb of Alderley Edge, gobbling up the site currently occupied by another LV restaurant, Grill on the Edge, which will close on Tuesday 31 May.

The Cheshire sleb hangout will undergo an ‘extensive refurbishment’ including external alterations and a full revamp of the interior.

Simon Potts, Managing Director of The Alchemist said:

“We’re delighted to be creating a suburban vision of The Alchemist and feel that Alderley Edge, a village we’ve known and loved at Living Ventures for many years, will be the perfect place to continue our exciting expansion plans.

"We believe that the casual all day restaurant element of the business; serving brunch, lunch and dinner alongside our beautifully crafted cocktails, will be a perfect fit for the village and look forward to welcoming guests later this summer."

The Alchemist Alderley Edge will launch in the summer.
