Manc icon announces he's performing dates at the brand-new arena next June

Manchester’s very own Rock ‘n’ Roll Star will be gracing the stage at Co-op Live arena next year.

Liam Gallagher, co-founder of iconic Manchester Indie band, Oasis, has announced his return to the city to perform the band's hit album Definitely Maybe in full on 15, 16 and 27 June 2024.

The most important album of the 90s, bar none? Maybe? Definitely?

Liam, renowned for his strutting stage presence, especially on occasions such as his sell-out Knebworth Park shows (which made headlines last year), will be performing three dates of his Definitely Maybe Tour at the impending arena that’s due to open its doors for the very first time early next year.

Co-op Live is set to be the UK’s biggest and most sustainable arena, clocking up a whopping capacity of 23,500, with its own restaurants and nightclubs on site. It’s the first purpose-built music arena in the UK and will run completely on solar powered electricity mostly from 8883 m2 solar panels. It’ll sit snuggly besides Man City’s stomping ground, Etihad Arena, which is expected to receive a redevlopment boost soon.

Celebrating the 30-year anniversary of the influential debut album, the tour will see Liam serenade fans with the wave-making album played live and in full for the first time ever, along with selected B-sides from the era.

Of course, each set will be jam-packed with classics including Live ForeverSupersonic, and Cigarettes & Alcohol to name but a few. But this string of shows will also be a rare opportunity to hear tracks that have rarely (if ever) been performed live since the mid-90s, including Up In The Sky and Digsy’s Dinner

Speaking of the tour on his own social media, Liam says: “I'm bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none. I wouldn't be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together LG x"

Ben Tipple, Head of Digital & Communications at Co-op LIVE said: “ I’m pleased to confirm that Liam Gallagher will be celebrating 30 years of Oasis’ debut Definitely Maybe with three shows at Co-op Live, adjacent to his beloved Etihad Stadium.”

Tickets for the shows will go on general sale at 9AM on Friday 20 October and can be purchased here.

Co-op Members will get first access to tickets for the Manchester shows from 9AM on Wednesday 18 October.

Let the ticket scramble commence. As you were, r’kid.
