Arley Hall welcomes Indian Summers celebration of food and drink in July

The first-ever Indian Summer Food & Drink Festival has been announced.

This family event is coming to Arley Hall and Gardens in the Cheshire countryside from Saturday 3 July to Sunday 4 July from 10am-6pm. And for all you telly addicts, it’s also famous for being the setting of Peaky Blinders.

Indian Summer Festival is about spending time with family and friends in the great British outdoors with amazing food, outstanding entertainment, alfresco bars and an entirely dedicated kids zone.

The festival will feature Khanawala Street – a food extravaganza with seven stalls all selling different varieties of Indian Street Food. This totally unique series of stalls will transport visitors from the beautiful gardens of Arley Hall to the bustle of Mumbai and Delhi. Food festivals are a staple of the summer scene but this is something totally different.

As it’s a family event, festival organisers have created the world's first Kidchella – a whole zone of the festival entirely dedicated to children, packed full of activities and entertainment.

What to expect at Arley Hall this July:

MAZA (TASTE)

There is no doubt Khanawala is the star of the food show with seven sumptuous Indian food stalls to choose from, it’s a chat patta – a flavour bomb. Boasting everything from kebabs, wraps and bhangra burgers to authentic Indian curries and snacks.  For the less adventurous diner, less spicy fare can be found at other Artisan food stalls in the market, showcasing traditional street food such as stone-baked pizza, banging burgers, churros and chocolate...food heaven for all. Adults can also enjoy the cocktail van, gin bar and a Cobra beer stand.

MASTI (FUN)

Masti - meaning fun - can be found at the heart of the Kidchella Children's zone. Kidchella will offer something for even the most discerning little adventurer to enjoy. Toddlers and Pre-schoolers can play in the giant sandpit, laugh with friends on fair rides. or say hello to furry friends at the donkey sanctuary. For the older children, they can dive into nach (dance) classes, pick up some new skills from the fabulous Circus Sensible team or explore the thrill of the funfair.

TAMASHA (LIVE ENTERTAINMENT)

In India, a fabulous performance or show is known as tamasha. Why not begin your Indian Summer experience with a free yoga class. These will be available throughout the day along with crystal healing where you can finally find your inner zen. Enjoy the sounds of an Indian drummer band and the sensational Mr Wilsons who will be performing throughout the festival. If you feel like a bit of hala gola (craziness) then you can let loose at our Bollywood dance and really go baley baley (go crazy). There will also be a beautiful Indian-inspired performance by the local Stagecoach Performing Arts School.
