Art, ale and anthems: September events at Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse
WE think Vincent would approve of this event at the Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse on 26 September.
It's an informal art class where you can learn how to paint in the style of Van Gogh while enjoying a glass of beer, wine, or whatever takes your fancy at the bar. Vincent's preferred tipple was absinthe. They don't serve that here but you can get a similar effect from four pints of Seven Brothers IPA if you drink it fast enough.
The painting class is just one of the events they've got planned at the Beerhouse, which is in Cutting Room Square, Ancoats (a couple of minutes' walk from the Northern Quarter). Here's what's coming up in September:
20 September: Live Music Thursdays
Piano and vocal duo Jelly Sours return with their brand of happy blues, soul-jazz, and jelly-soured classics. Catch them from 7pm. Free. Find out more.
Sunday 23 September: MLGC Sing to the Beerhouse
End the weekend on a high with this post-rehearsal drink and sing from the Manchester Lesbian and Gay Choir. Hear them singing a few numbers from 9pm. Free. Find out more.
Wednesday 26 September: Pop Up Painting: Paint Van Gogh Mini
Unleash your creativity at this informal class themed around Jayne Evans' Van Gogh-inspired Wheat Field Mini painting. No experience needed. Art supplies and guidance from a qualified, practising artist is included in the ticket price of £24.99. From 7.30pm. Find out more.
