THE glorious scent of Cognac is in the air all week at Manchester House’s panoramic 12th floor Lounge as it welcomes La Maison Rémy Martin – a pop-up private member’s club that has been an annual sensation in Soho. There’s no reason to believe it won’t repeat the feat at its first location outside the capital.

It will host a nightly talk, masterclass or workshop by top Manchester talent.

Monday evening saw a launch party with much tinkling of glasses to celebrate its arrival and to give guests a glimpse of what is to come.

So what to expect during its glamorous five day tenure (Tue 27 Sept to Sat 1 Oct)? A whole cavalcade of events in various corners of the bar, including an education in what makes one of the world’s great drinks brands tick. Expect “a variety of unique experiences to explore Rémy Martin’s philosophy”.

This means it will host a nightly talk, masterclass or workshop by top Manchester talent revealing their hidden passions. Previous London luminaries have included The Connaught’s head mixologist, Ago Perrone, who showcased his talent for photography, and TV presenter and model Jodie Kidd on her unexpected passion for motor racing.

We look forward to interesting revelations from Manchester House’s brilliant chef Aiden Byrne as he talks about food and art on Wednesday 29th. The complete programme is:

Tuesday: Fashion/Creativity - Richard Smith from Bespoke (tailoring)

Wednesday: Food/Art - Aiden Byrne

Thursday: Craftmanship - Boodles (jewellery design)

Friday: Sports/Determination - Chris Iwelumo (ex-footballer)

Saturday: Sport/Philanthropy - Diane Modal

Each night La Maison Rémy Martin Manchester House is hosting Opulence Revealed workshops which give guests a unique and engaging exploration of the notes of their prestige serve, Rémy Martin XO. Attendees will be educated about the XO serve by Rémy Martin’s ambassador and will be invited to taste the array of epicurean delights - providing the ultimate multi-sensory masterclass.

Beautiful retail space Cognathèque will offer members the chance to buy limited editions and rare blends. It’s the first UK point of sale for Carte Blanche à Baptiste Loiseau – an exclusive limited edition created by Rémy Martin’s legendary Cellar Master
