Jet2.com and Jet2holidays celebrated their inaugural flight from Manchester Airport to Naples by surprising the first 168 customers with helpings of Neapolitan ice cream!

The new service will run twice a week from April to October 2016, opening up a gateway for holidaymakers to Positano and Sorrento on the iconic Amalfi Coast.

Not that intrepid tourists should avoid the fascinating, historic city of Naples itself or the idyllic islands of Capri and Ischia out in the Bay.

Not content with dishing out the gelato Jet2.com were also busy in Manchester city centre, hosting a real-life treasure hunt to mark a decade of flights to Rome. The leisure airline challenged residents to locate a giant red X hidden at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, for the chance to win one of 10 pairs of flights to the Italian capital.  Clues to the location were posted on Jet2.com’s social media pages, while passers-by were also encouraged to get involved by a pair of burly Roman Gladiators (pictured below).
