FAVOURITE steakhouse restaurants Blackhouse have a beef – and they want you to help out with it. Pick a dish from their special Great British Beef Off menu between now and 16 September, and help raise money for the Tim Bacon Foundation, fighting cancer by supporting the new Proton Beam Therapy Centre and Maggie’s at Manchester’s Christie hospital.

First up is Manchester’s Grill On The Alley head chef Michael Antoszwski who has matched fillet steak with a Bury black pudding bon bon, Lancashire hotpot spuds and Boddingtons jus. John Doyle of Leeds has come up with a pan-seared treacle-cured fillet of beef with cauliflower puree and Yorkshire pud (of course), while Jack Cinense in London has teamed his steak with bubble and squeak, battered oyster and bacon curls for something surf’n’turf inspired.
These dishes are only available until Sunday 13 August before the next 3 take the stage! See the menu here.
For each special ordered, £2 will be donated to the Tim Bacon Foundation, set up by Blackhouse Grill parent company Living Ventures in the name of its co-founder and chairman after he lost his battle with cancer. Sales of Tim’s favourite cocktail, the classic Negroni, will also pass on £1 to the Foundation, as will the specially crafted Maple Loves Ginger.
GBBO dishes and cocktails are available in both Grill on the Alley and Grill on New York Street until 16 September.
