THE MONASTERY Manchester scooped a hat trick at the Meeting and Incentive Travel Industry (M&IT) Awards in London this week.

'No one has ever managed to collect three awards in the same year so we’re thrilled'

In the presence of more than 1,000 industry professionals, the grade II* listed building won Gold for Best UK Unusual Venue, retaining the title, and also was awarded a Silver in the Best Value for Money Conference Venue and Best Conference and Banqueting staff categories.

Commenting on the awards, Paul Griffiths, Chairman of The Monastery Manchester said: “To win the hat trick is incredible. The Meeting & Incentive Travel Awards are the hospitality sector's longest running and most prestigious awards and no one has ever managed to collect three awards in the same year so we’re thrilled.

"Since we opened as an events venue in 2007, and excluding any Monastery revenue, we have brought £8.5 million of total visitor spend into the city’s economy with many blue chip companies choosing to come to Manchester purely because they want to have their event at The Monastery.”

The M&IT Industry Awards ceremony is organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine and rewards excellence of service and product across the events sector.

In addition to the 19 awards which are voted for by industry peers and clients, there will be two special awards: M&IT Personality of the Year, nominated by the industry; and the Access Excellence Award, decided by a panel of accessibility experts.
