Manchester, the Complete Guide is out now.
A new Manchester guidebook, more loving than any Baedeker, more knowing than any Fodor and loads funnier than any Rough Guide to anywhere
It is written by Manchester Confidential editor, Jonathan Schofield, who says: "There was a gap in the market for a comprehensive and authoritative guide to the city for visitors or residents. Most of the books on the market are very much black and white archive photo albums or very slim and shallow in content. I wanted this one to be different, hefty enough to provide a good read but beautifully illustrated so it could be bought as a souvenir as well."
The guidebook is 244 pages long, costs £9.99, and describes the main monuments, museums and galleries whilst also giving the lowdown on where to stay, eat, drink, dance, watch sport or shop. The comprehensive food and drink section was produced in association with Manchester Confidential.
There are four walking itineraries around the city and recommendations on days away from Manchester. Biographies of key citizens and episodes in Manchester’s lively history are revealed. The quotes section all about the things people have said about Manchester is hilarious.
