The popular Manchester coffee house is set to open the doors to its MeadowSide cafe this week

Foundation, one of Manchester’s most popular coffee shops, opens their MeadowSide venue this Friday 15 September. This will be their fourth coffee house and dining room.

Located within the Gate and Stile development, the new place will be part of Far East Consortium’s Victoria North regeneration project.

The 2,100 square-foot store overlooks Angel Meadow Park and serves an array of hot and cold beverages alongside an all-day brunch menu, including signature favourites such as the Foundation Fry Up and sticky toffee French toast.

We look forward to becoming a genuine neighbourhood hub

Beginning their successful career with their Northern Quarter venue on Lever Street, Foundation built up a cult following and eventually expanded with additional sites on Whitworth Street and Portland Street.

Aside from the food and drink Foundation hosts a number of evening events and activities throughout the year for their ever-growing community to join in with.

Expanding into Manchester’s Red Bank neighbourhood, Foundation will join a host of other much-loved local vendors including award-winning restaurant The Sparrows, Half Dozen Other and Green Arches Brewery.

To celebrate the expansion, Foundation is offering all customers 50% off hot drinks and 25% off food during its opening week.

Foundation also plans to give exclusive discounts to residents of Gate and Stile, as well as a partnership with loyalty card platform SQUID which will incentivise a loyalty programme across all four of the city centre sites.

Katie Lea, design director at Foundation, said: “We’re excited to now bring Foundation to this part of the city centre and look forward to becoming a genuine neighbourhood hub where we can welcome the local community and get to be a part of the regeneration of this area of our city.

“Our large spaces are designed with flexibility in mind, so they are great places to work and play, from early in the morning into the evening seven days a week. From coffee and brunch to drinks and events.”

Jake Scott-Thrale, asset manager at FEC, said: “Our partnership with Foundation epitomises our approach for our commercial strategy – working with independent and entrepreneurial businesses to bring some of the city’s most exciting brands to the residents of MeadowSide and beyond. We are incredibly excited to be working with Dominic and the Foundation Coffee Team who have established a fantastic independent Mancunian brand,

“By introducing more popular, local brands, we’re looking forward to more people discovering this part of the city centre.”
