BOUTIQUE ten-pin bowling for Manchester is just around the corner.

All Star Lanes is shaping up for its launch on 1 March so Confidential slipped into our leather pumps and had a look round the almost complete venue.

More life is coming to south west city centre Manchester. This is nothing but good news.

The balls are lined up, the lanes have been polished to within an inch of their lives, and the staff were undergoing rigourous training on our visit. The site in the 1890s Great Northern Railway Company's Goods Warehouse (yes a bit of a mouthful) is moody but spectacular with wrought neon signs buzzing through the darkness and intimate lighting for the modern diner-style restaurant.

The food menu is still to be officially announced but will carry all the traditional Americana so popular in the city at the moment. There will also be more adventurous items on offer too with the 'Popcorn Squid' and other nibbles to be sampled.

Down to the main purpose of the place though - the bowling. There are ten sparkly lanes on offer, however only six are for regular public use. Lanes one and two occupy a secluded private room for hire complete with its own bar and staff.

At the other end are lanes nine and ten, also known as the 'West Wing' in honour of Harry S Truman's bespoke lanes built in the White House during his tenure as president. These two are semi-private, available for group hire and with a waiting fridge to be stocked with your own booze of choice.

More details can be found here but below is a sizeable gallery of what can be expected of All Star Lanes come 1 March. More life is coming to south west city centre Manchester. This is nothing but good news.
