Get your mitts on the Alston Xmas Burger and all the trimmings
CHRISTMAS dinner with all the trimmings is looking a little bit different this year, with choices of traditional roast turkey, chestnut and mushroom wellington, sirloin steak and a brand-new creation: the Alston Xmas Burger.
This very special take on the season lets you get your teeth into layers of beef, turkey, stuffing, cranberry relish, crispy sprouts and Swiss cheese; perfect if you’re feeding a cold (and even if you’re not).
Part of Alston Bar & Beef’s limited-edition Christmas Menu, three courses are just £40, including a welcome cocktail to warm the cockles – leaving you enough change for a quick spin round the shops afterwards for some last-minute presents.

Starters include spicy carrot and parsnip soup and a veggie version of pigs in blankets, while sweets include mulled wine posset and Christmas pud with brandy custard.
Meanwhile, Alston Bar & Beef are offering a special set menu at lunchtime, available Monday to Thursday noon until 5pm, with two courses just £20 and three for £24.
From chicory tart and Scottish smoked salmon starters, through a choice of mains including turkey roulade, to desserts such as dark chocolate mousse and brioche and butter pudding, there’s definitely much to whet one’s whistle – even if you have to go back to the office.
