It’s Father’s Day on Sunday, so we've put together a round up of what we consider to be the best options for every budget. 

If you’re a skint student but still want to treat your pop, we’ve got you. If you can afford to spend a bit more on your old man, we've picked out some ideas and special deals for you too. And if you can splash out on something a bit more extravagant for a daddy that enjoys the finer things in life, look no further.

Cosy Club - A burger and a beer for £15

Who doesn’t love a burger? With four options including the Blue Velvet with pulled beef brisket and blue cheese, and the Beyond Meat vegan burger to choose from plus any pint of draft or a bottled beer, this is a great way to give your dad a pat(ty) on the back.

Carluccios - free bottle of Bionda Trentina Italian craft beer

Carluccio’s have just launched their summer menu and if you order any main course from it on Father’s Day your dad will get a bottle of Italian craft beer for free. Choose from dishes like wild boar tortelloni, classic lasagne or lamb gremolata. They’re also offering a special range of artisan food and wine hampers.

Manchester River Cruises - City River & Canal Tour, a pie and a pint for £14

If you want to do something a bit different this year, why not book a historic river cruise with your Dad? Manchester River Cruises are operating five one-hour cruises around Salford Quays and the Manchester Ship Canal for Father’s Day. There’s an option to add on a pie or scotch egg and pint for just a fiver.

Mason’s - Three courses for £19

Mason’s are offering three courses of classic dishes for just £19 on Father’s Day. Add a drink and you will still come in at under £30 per head. The first 25 people to book will also receive a free Manchester Cookbook which features one of Mason’s dishes.

James Martin - £25 for three courses plus a free beer for Dad.

Treat your dad to Sunday lunch from celebrity chef James Martin and he will get a free beer. With mains like slow cooked rump of beef with dripping potatoes, anise carrots, yorkies and pan juices, or pan-roast cod, smoked mussel consommé, white beans and fennel, this is not your average Sunday dinner. But he’s not your average dad, right?

Lunya - massive meat feast and a drink for £24.95

If your dad is a dedicated carnivore, he’ll love this Catalan feast of epic proportions. The platter includes iberico ribs, lamb chops, pork skewers, chicken, chorizo, butifarra sausage and Spanish black pudding (morcilla) with patatas bravas and salad. Adding a mixed tapas starter just pushes it into the next price bracket at £32.95.

This Father’s Day, Deansgate’s Barber Barber will be in residence in The Study at Albert’s Schloss from 1pm-5pm for hair cuts, beard trims, clipper cuts and hair & beard ‘taming’. So your dad can have a bit of pampering before you treat him to some Bavarian food and beer in the food hall with specials for the day including lemon & thyme chicken with potato salad and gravy, and a triple chocolate cheesecake for afters.

Mr Cooper's - 2 Courses for £28 & free Peroni for Dad

Yes, it's another one offering free beer but at Mr Cooper's it's not just one beer. There will be a dedicated Peroni bar for Dads to come and help themselves to bottles over the course of their meal. They have come up with a special menu for Father's Day with starters such as slow cooked pork belly, scratchings and celeriac slaw, mains including steak and kidney pie, peas and roast potatoes and glazed vanilla brûlée and shortbread biscuits on the dessert menu.

Having just been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Best Luxury Restaurant UK’ at the British Restaurant Awards 2019, this might be the one if you really want to give your dad an unforgettable gastronomic experience. For the full shebang, go for the Six-Course Omakase Experience at £65 for omnivores or £45 for vegetarians. Whatever you order, your dad will get a Plum Fashioned or Cherry Smoke Negroni on the house.

Alderley Edge Hotel & Restaurant - 3 courses for £31.95 and all Dads receive a gift

This one’s a bit mysterious as we’re not sure what the gift is. But if you and your dad like surprises and top notch food, this could be a good shout. There are starters such as compressed melon, Cumbrian air dried ham, orange, chilli and sesame dressing, mains like loin of pork & black pudding, red cabbage and mash with cider sauce, and “Smashed” lemon meringue pie amongst others for dessert.

The Parker’s Arms - 3 courses for £30

At number 15 in our Top 100 Restaurants in the North guide (and a bit further out), The Parker’s Arms is a fine choice for a dad who deserves the best. Powerhouse head chef Stosie Madi works closely with the seasons to create her locally sourced menus. Dishes such as  Bowland ham hock terrine, asparagus & Lancashire cheese tart and Gisburn cream posset with Lancashire berries appear on her special Father’s Day menu. Helpfully, children under 10 eat for free.
