ALMOST Famous, which has restaurants in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, have given their gigantic American burger van a sweet makeover. Now to celebrate, the distinctive AF Wondertruck will be at the four-day Bolton Food Festival (Aug 26 to 29), on Le Mans Crescent serving the most delicious, tasty burgers.

We've taken the classic, dirty truck stop, fairground style, real street food burger and given it the Famous treatment!

They will be selling the Wonderburger, Bacon Wonderburger, and BIG Wonderburger. All of them are made from super juicy rare-breed prime cuts of 100 per cent beef, seasoned and seared with Almost Famous’s house spices, topped with indulgent, buttery, melt in the mouth wonderonions.

Add some crispy smoked streaky bacon and an oozing melty blend of American burger and cheddar cheese with crispy bits and that gives you the Bacon Wonderburger. Throw in some creamy tangy famous sauce, house-made ketchup and bacon mayo, fresh cut pickles, red onions on buttery soft lightly toasted brioche buns.

Or if you’re feeling daring, go the whole whack and get the BIG one with a triple burger patty stack!

Amy Kerr, from Almost Famous, said: “We've taken the classic, dirty truck stop, fairground style, real street food burger and given it the Famous treatment!

“Bolton Food and Drink Festival is such an awesome event with a real community feel. When we tweeted the festival saying we wanted to join in on all the Bolton fun, we couldn't believe the response from everyone!

“People were getting super hyped for Almost Famous burgers to be there, so it was such an easy decision to make."

Almost Famous will be doing on-the-spot giveaways over the whole weekend, from free burgers to sunglasses and t-shirts.

They will also be running a ‘golden ticket’ competition for a person to win a huge burger feast for a group of 10 people in their Manchester restaurant private dining room. All you have to do is get yourself to the Wondertruck on Le Mans Crescent during the festival.

It is the 11th year of Bolton Food and Drink Festival, organised by Bolton Council, in association with Aldi. Leader of Bolton Council, Councillor Cliff Morris, added: "We are delighted to welcome Almost Famous to the festival – it is a real coup to attract such a well-known and well-loved name to town. They’ll be joining more than 180 traders spead across the town centre. It’s a festival not to be missed.”

Celebrity chefs this year include Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, James Martin, John Torode, Michael Caines and Aiden Byrne.
