DO you fancy a family holiday with the kids but want something a little different, without having to compromise on style?

The latest offering from Luxury Backpackers Family Adventures In Style is a travel book that might have the perfect travel advice for you.

Jill and Carlo Nash have personally travelled to every destination featured in the book and overseen every detail of the book’s design and production.

Launched at Harvey Nichols, Manchester by couple Jill and Carlo Nash, the book offers a guide to the best destinations, places to stay, eat and explore if you have children and an adventurous spirit.

Families who came to the launch were treated to cocktails and mocktails, mini cupcakes, balloons and face painting. Everything was themed according to the regions covered in the book, so Turkish delight cupcakes represented Turkey, a Guinness themed treat for Ireland and delicious Swiss chocolate and cream cheese flavoured cakes contained ingredients that might be collected from an adventure in Switzerland.

The drinks included a Pisco Punch Cocktail. a drink from Peru, and a  Kinnie a non-alcoholic drink originating in Malta, both places covered in the book.

Jill and Carlo took time to introduce the book and share some of their travel stories and explain the reasons behind it.

Jill said “In the past for us, travelling for us has always been about adventures, and I’m not just talking about jumping off bridges and out of planes and diving with sharks but the simple things like sharing a beer with locals in Mexico or waking up on an untouched beach, miles from civilisation, or simply getting around on public transport in Tokyo.”

“Now we have Gaia (their daughter) we have to take other things into consideration like tantrums in a souk in Istanbul and finding somewhere to warm milk in the middle of the night in a practically closed airport.”

Jill and Carlo brought along their travel companion, daughter Gaia to the event. Friends Andrew Lonergan (Leeds United) and Stoke Team Mate Rory Delap turned up with their own mini-me’s. Family friend Sarah Jayne Dunn also went along to show her support.

The couple said “We have recognised that many families look for different experiences when travelling, which can range from the great outdoors, to culture or wildlife, depending on the age of the children, if you have an active toddler or an inquisitive teenager. So there are trip suggestions and for every type of family.”

Adding “However long you have together, whether it is a weekend camping in Ireland, or a year travelling South America, there is something for every budget.”
