CITY centre hotels are popping up all over Manchester at the moment. Another to be added to the ever growing list is Eclectic Hotels’ new venture, King Street Townhouse.

Despite its name, the new boutique hotel will actually be situated on Booth Street.

This is the fifth venture for Eclectic Hotels and business partners Eamonn and Sally O'Loughlin, and will join their portfolio alongside Great John Street, Didsbury House and Eleven Didsbury Park hotels. The new hotel is expected to create around 70 jobs.

King Street Townhouse will be in a Grade II listed building and is expected to combine the interior decorating style of Eclectic Hotels, whilst still keeping its individuality.

Sally, from Eclectic Hotels, said: "The design of King Street Townhouse will be distinctive and although our Eclectic style will be evident the new hotel will have its own identity just as the identity of Great John Street and our Didsbury hotels are so very different. King Street Townhouse is set to be both impressive and intimate in style."

The hotel will include 40 bedrooms and suites, gym and spa treatment rooms, afternoon tea rooms for conferencing and event space for up to 200 people. Another distinctive feature is the south facing rooftop infinity spa pool, with views of the spires and clock tower of the Town Hall. There will also be a south facing roof terrace, available for private hire.

"We have worked closely with Manchester City Council and our design team to create a luxury townhouse hotel within the King Street conservation area," said Eamonn. "We are very grateful to the city's planning department for their support and guidance. I remain heavily involved in the project on a daily basis to ensure the concept we have devised is made a reality and hopefully welcomed by the public."

Renovations and building work has already began and the hotel is scheduled to open in spring 2015.
