Though Hawksmoor rightly didn't modify their menu or prices when hightailing it to Manchester from that there London, what they did do was stick a 55-day aged rump steak with chips on the Mancunian lunch menu for £15. Bargain. And you did know rump is the steak-eaters steak, right?

ABODE - Steak, lobster and Prosecco for two £45 

Another fizzing deal, Abode’s hotel restaurant is offering lobster with garlic & lemon butter, two 10oz flat iron steaks, peppercorn sauce, fries and a bottle of prosecco for under 50 quid. The bottle is from a ‘set selection’ and it excludes Sundays - otherwise, tuck in until the end of July.

The Hilton’s Podium may not command the citywide views of its Cloud 23 counterpart but it knows how to put on a good deal. Typical dishes include walnut and maple roasted duck breast with raspberry and elderflower jam, or spiced monkfish with Bombay potatoes.
