Eat New York move into relaunched Chorlton Green
Northern Quarter bagel boys Eat New York have revealed plans to take on a new space in Chorlton - less than a year after opening their debut Bagel Shop on Oldham Street.
Speaking to Confidential, co-owner Jonathan Leathley said they'd be taking over the kitchens of Chorlton Green (formerly Chorlton Green Brasserie) on Beech Road when it reopens to the public on Friday 19th October following a facelift.
"The new management wanted to take a more modern approach, so were looking for a street food operator to run the kitchen," says Leathley. "Luckily our names were thrown into the ring.
"We haven't seen anyone in Chorlton doing what we're doing, so we're really looking forward to bringing something different to Beech Road - which already has such a great food and drink crowd."
Leathley says the menu will be "almost exactly the same" as the menu at their Northern Quarter branch - which has achieved internet fame for its fourteen day salt-cured American brisket, dipped in house rub and smoked for fifteen hours (see video above).
"We're aware that Chorlton has a strong vegetarian contingent too, so we're looking to ramp up our non-meat options, such as our Bagel Ganoush with tempura aubergine, chipotle, tomato sauce, smoked baba ganoush and onion - that's proving really popular."
And for dessert?
"It's got to be deep fried pie," says Leathley, "you can't lose with deep fried pie."
Eat New York's menu will be supported by a robust selection of craft beer, wine and cocktails at Chorlton Green, which is set to relaunch on Friday 19th October after closing earlier this year.
Open six days a week from midday until late. Eat New York's menu will be available from midday Tues to Sun (and for breakfast on Sat & Sun). @eatnewyork
