EASYJET’s first flight between Manchester and Moscow was launched with traditional Russian Cossack dancers performed at the gate.
The airline expects to carry around 60,000 passengers on the route during the first year with four flights operating every week. The Russian route is one of six new destinations from Manchester – with easyJet also serving Antalya, Thessaloniki, Santorini, Mykonos and Prague this spring through the addition of an eighth aircraft.
Ali Gayward, commercial manager for easyJet, said: “Moscow is a landmark route for easyJet at Manchester Airport and we are delighted to have opened up this major new link for the North of England.
“Our new flights will make Moscow easy and affordable for a city break for the first time, as well as opening up the market to businesses of all sizes. Russia is the world’s largest country with a growing economy and these frequent and affordable transport links will play a key role in boosting trade between the two countries.”
easyJet is operating four flights per week between Manchester and Moscow Domodedovo Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with fares starting from £47.49 per person. The fare is one way from Manchester to Moscow based on two people flying including all taxes and admin fee. To book visit www.easyjet.com.
