Chef patron Gary Usher has another to add to the pile
Things keep on getting better for chef patron Gary Usher.
Having recently seen all three of his North West bistros - Hispi in Didsbury, Sticky Walnut in Chester, and Burnt Truffle in Heswall - voted amongst the Top 100 restaurants in the UK by Squaremeal, the St Albans-born chef also saw Hispi rank at number 54 in the Estrella Damm UK Top 100.
To add to that, Hispi has also been nominated for four Manchester Food and Drink Festival (MFDF) awards, including 'Chef of the Year' (Richard Sharples) and 'Best out of Town Venue'.
Now the bistro - opened just eleven months ago - has another one to add to the pile: 'Best Newcomer' at the Food & Travel Magazine 2017 Reader Awards.

Having fought off tough competition from eight London-based restaurants at the black tie event in Pall Mall, Usher was understandably beaming: “We’re absolutely chuffed that Hispi has been awarded Newcomer of the Year.
"To be the only restaurant shortlisted for the award outside of London was an honour in itself and is a credit to what a fantastic job the whole team at Hispi are doing. I couldn’t be more proud.”
Though there's little time for Usher & co. to revel in their victory, with a fourth bistro, Wreckfish, due to open in Liverpool on October 23.
