Courteeners have announced a major UK tour that crowns what is unarguably the band’s most successful eighteen months to date and includes a record breaking a five-night stint at Manchester’s O2 Apollo.
Concrete Love marked a career high for the band when it charted at number three
This unprecedented run is the first time any band has played so many consecutive nights at the iconic venue and ending the tour what will undoubtedly be such an emotional high means this is one gig you don’t want to miss.
You can catch the homecoming heroes every night from Tuesday 8 December to Saturday 12 December where they’ll be playing tracks from their most recent album Concrete Love, crowd-pleasers from their career so far and a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
The forthcoming tour crowns an incredible eighteen-month period for the band that began with the success of Concrete Love which marked a career high for the band when it charted at number three.
That release was quickly followed by headline slots at Reading and Leeds, primetime appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, T in the Park and V Festival and a historic hometown gig at Manchester’s Heaton Park in June.
All 25,000 tickets for that show sold out in under an hour. Q magazine went on to award the show a gushing 5 star review, describing it as “their equivalent of the Stone Roses’ Spike Island or Oasis’ Maine Road… less like a ‘performance’, more like a reciprocal communion”.
The band release a new single - Small Bones - next week. The track, taken from Concrete Love, comes accompanied with a video shot live at the Heaton Park show.
If the gigs at the O2 Apollo are as legendary as they’re lining up to be, who knows the next video could be shot there. Get your tickets and you could be a part of history.
Courteeners have announced two extra dates on Friday 18 December and Saturday 19 December
