LOOKING for an ice-breaking activity for a hen or a stag do? This is it. Black Dog Ballroom NWS, just off Oxford Road, does cocktail masterclasses where you can learn the tricks of the mixologist trade and enjoy a drink or three at the same time.
Cringe-free and enjoyable, it'll get your evening off to a sophisticated start. (How the night proceeds from there is up to you.)
Expect a relaxed, sociable class everyone can get involved in
You start the class with a champagne cocktail on the bar's heated, covered roof terrace. Then award-winning mixologist Martin Taylor will teach you how to create (and quaff) two heavenly cocktails of your own.
And if you happen to stumble upon a masterpiece, Black Dog will even add your recipe to their cocktail bible so that you can order it at the bar on future visits.
Martin's cocktail-mixing credentials are impressive: he out-mixed nine contenders from some of Manchester’s best bars including Obsidian, Epernay and Trof to become the regional winner of the Lamb’s Spiced Rum 'Master of the Blend' competition. He's a friendly guy – expect a relaxed, sociable class everyone can get involved in.
The cocktail masterclasses are a popular option for birthdays and works nights out as well as hen and stag dos. They're available for groups of between five and fifteen people. They include three cocktails each. Classes cost £25 per head.
