Expect risqué circus shows and even a mini funfair as infamous concept rolls up North
Like your performances a bit…risqué? Then Cirque Manchester - an ‘exhilarating’ new nightclub from the team behind London’s infamous Cirque Le Soir - may be the ticket.
Opening this month in the former Press Club site on Queen Street, the circus-themed venue promises ‘a club beyond imagination’ featuring Cirque’s theatrical performances, global DJs and even a mini funfair.
Operations Director John Common said: “We’ve been planning to open our new concept ‘Cirque’ for some time. Manchester is a truly amazing city with buzzing nightlife, it’s the perfect fit for our brand and culture. So when we found the perfect space, we decided to bring the circus to town.
“The new club is a take on our London venue, with circus-style performances and a truly immersive nightclub experience. It’s crazy, it’s exhilarating, it’s a different world - it’s like nothing else out there.”
Cirque Le Soir was founded by entrepreneur Ryan Bish in London ten years ago and has attracted an impressive roll call performers; Future, French Montana, Post Malone, Sean Paul, Migos, Tyga, ASAP Rocky and Steflon Don to name but a few. VIP guests, meanwhile, have included the likes of Rihanna, Drake, The Weeknd, Idris Elba, Stormzy, Neymar and Kendall Jenner.
Of the new Manchester venue, which comes ahead of further planned openings in Barcelona and Mykonos, Common added: “Our crazy shows will change night on night, offering our clientele performances of constant variety and true originality. We’re often imitated but never bettered. Our diverse performers are of international acclaim and are on-hand to shock, enthral and mesmerise our audience. We will offer Manchester a nightclub experience they never thought possible.”
Cirque Le Soir’s parent company Cream Group is making a ‘significant investment’ to create the venue, which they say has created 50 new jobs in Manchester.
Cirque Manchester will open with a VIP, invite-only launch on Saturday 24 August before the grand opening on Sunday 25 August.
