The Italian restaurant in Levenshulme has been recognised for its fantastic food and hospitality in the North West
From a stall at Levenshulme Market to a full-fledged (and highly-praised) Italian restaurant on the high street, family run restaurant Cibus has come a long way.
Adding even more accolades to their belt, the restaurant, operated by Giorgio Fontana and Marco Bracchitta, has just been awarded as The Good Food Guide’s Best Local Restaurant in the North West 2024.
60,000 nominations were made by the public, putting forward their most beloved bistros, brasseries, pubs and cafés and, here in the North West, Cibus came out on top.
Cibus’ menu changes seasonally with imaginative and intriguing specials rotating every week. You can expect authentic and exciting Italian small plates like panelle and scarola, as well as hearty pasta dishes like homemade veal and rabbit ravioli.
Speaking on the award, Founder Giorgio Fontana said “We’re over the moon. It’s the best motivation for the whole staff, particularly in the times we’re in in the industry. We’d like to give a massive thank you to the community of Levenshulme, they’ve always been there for us and we’ve grown organically with them. We’re so happy to have recognition for the hard work we’ve put in. We’ve been receiving congratulations messages from customers and friends all morning, the sun is shining and bookings seem good today. So time to work hard again.”
Confidentials.com Publisher Mark Garner said “Cibus are one of the founding premium clients of ConfidentialGuides.com and we’ve worked alongside them for the past three years - three years that have been very difficult for small, independent hospitality businesses. We’re thrilled to see such a great, local, family-run Northern restaurant getting the recognition it deserves and we can’t wait to see what’s next for Giorgio, Marco and the team.”
Alongside the Levenshulme favourite, a number of other great Northern restaurants also made the Top 100 list including Lily’s Vegetarian Indian Cuisine and Edinburgh Castle.
