The beloved Neapolitan pizza spot is trying something different with this city centre location
The team behind Manchester’s award-winning Neapolitan pizza spot, Ciaooo, have announced they will be opening a brand-new sister concept, doing what they do best but with a twist.
Ciaooo By The Slice will open this weekend, taking over the site of Ciaooo’s Loaded Garlic Bread on Shudehill.
The brand’s Co-Founders Stefano Mordecchi and Lory Grigorie saw an opportunity to try something different, returning to their roots and bringing authentic Romana pizza al taglio to Manchester for the very first time.
Baked low and slow on large trays, the pizzas are then cut into generous 9x6” slices. Complete with fresh, authentic Italian toppings and a crispy base made from light and fluffy dough, it’s a real switch-up from Ciaooo’s soft and chewy Neapolitan (which you can still pick up from their other site, Ciaooo Neapolitan Pizza, on Swan Street).

The new Shudehill site will serve up an ever-changing menu of eight different pizzas each day - from flavours like pulled pork and truffle oil to pepperoni and homemade hot honey - starting at just £4 per slice.
“We’ve always been passionate about Roman pizza - it’s where we started,” said Lory. “Opening Ciaooo Loaded Garlic Bread gave us the chance to try something new, and while people loved the garlic bread, they still wanted great pizza too. That made us realise it was time to bring something different to Manchester - something that really reflects our roots and what we love.”

Those with a sweet tooth can follow up their slices with a selection of homemade artisanal tiramisus created by co-owner Lory, featuring bold and decadent flavours like Pistachio and Kinder Bueno, as well as quirky specials like the banana, salted caramel and crispy pancetta. Served in bespoke, travel-friendly tins, these tiramisus can be enjoyed on the go.
Ciaooo By The Slice will open 12pm–10pm, Monday to Sunday.
