His starter makes us wish winter was already here. It's a bruschettine of porcini, wild mushrooms and fresh anchovies sautéed in white wine and cumin, and served on a rustic Italian sour dough.
His main looks like another full-bodied, rich dish that'll perfect for a celebration. It's lamb shanks slowly braised in Barolo wine with carrots and celeriac, and served with soft polenta and grilled fennel.
Novelli's heavenly dessert is slow roasted peaches infused with honey, cinnamon and amaretto, served with marscapone.

Those who prefer a more traditional dinner won't be disappointed either. The festive menu has many other options starring all the indulgent flavours of an Italian Christmas, such as duck pate, roast turkey, and tiramisu.
Don Giovanni was named Les Routiers' 'Newcomer of the Year 2016'. And it's just reached the finals of two categories in the English Italian Awards – 'Best English Italian Chef' and 'Best Restaurant With Over 50 Seats'. The kitchen team are going from strength to strength.
