GREATER Manchester Police has issued CCTV of two suspects after two girls were robbed in the city centre earlier this year.
"We are keen to trace the two men shown in this footage, who we believe may have followed these two young girls from Debenhams down to Oldham Road, where they were then robbed."
Two teenage girls were attacked at around 6.20pm on Monday 14 January while walking from Debenhams along Oldham Road at its junction with Thompson Street.
The 15 and 17-year-olds were approached by two men, one of whom initially asked one of the girls for their pin on blackberry messenger before grabbing her phone.
A struggle ensued as the girls tried to get the phone back, but they were held back by the second man. The two men then ran off with the phone, towards the canal down the back streets of Ancoats.
The first man is white and described as 5ft 7in tall, around 17-years-old with short blonde hair, a skinny face and bad teeth. He wore a grey tracksuit which had blue stripes down the top and bottoms and had the hood pulled up. He also wore black Adidas trainers with bright orange stripes.
The second man is white and described as around 17-years-old, skinny with a pale face and fair eyebrows. He wore a dark blue bobble hat with a dark hoody and a waist length dark blue bubble coat. He also wore grey tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Constable Martin Riley from north Manchester said: "We are keen to trace the two men shown in this footage, who we believe may have followed these two young girls from Debenhams down to Oldham Road, where they were then robbed.
