Camp fire capers set to turn up the heat at this year’s Castlefield Food Festival
Now in it’s third year, Castlefield Food Festival is set to fill Castlefield Bowl with a dazzling array of tastes, smells, sights and sounds. This unique urban Food Festival has a reputation for serving up lip-smacking Sizzling Street Food alongside the best our local farmers and producers have to offer. From Real Ale to Craft Gin’s and Quirky Cocktails our on-site bars will be serving up liquid refreshment to suit every taste.
Famous Five inspired cooking capers and a Gin Ahoy Barge Trip will take centre stage at this year’s Castlefield Food Festival.
In honour of Visit England’s Year of the Literary Heroes 2017, Castlefield Food Festival is proud to present, “Tea-Sup”- Camp-Fire cooking with “lashings of ginger beer”, OK, well, Ginger Beer cocktails! And Gin Ahoy a Swallows and Amazons inspired unique Gin and Cocktail Experience In Partnership with Manchester Gin creators Zymugorium and Castlefileds number one party boat, The Dry Barge.
Tea – Sup Thursday 11th May 2017 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Following your complimentary Ginger Beer Cocktail on arrival at the Castlefield campsite, you will embark on a fun forage for fresh herbs and spices. Celebrity Chef Rob Owen Brown, will then lead you in a hands on camp fire cooking experience that will see you master succulent pineapple cured sweet and sour chicken, sizzling lamb shwarma, served up in your very own, handmade flatbread. Once you have feasted on your meat supper, we will take you back in time, toasting marshmallows and swapping tales around an open fire.
Tea – Sup Tickets are £22.50 per person and include, fun forage, menu as outlined, marshmallows, a complimentary Ginger Beer Cocktail, tips to take away and a unique memento of your experience.
Tea – Sup Friday 12th May 2017 6.30pm – 8.30pm
A meal to make your Granny proud, it’s Friday so it’s fish. Following your complimentary Ginger Beer Cocktail on arrival at the Castlefield campsite, you will embark on a fun forage for fresh herbs and spices. Celebrity Chef Rob Owen Brown, will then lead you in a masterclass on cooking fish over an open fire. You will be hands on with Salmon, Chilli Barbeque Squid and Sea Bass. Once you have feasted on your fish supper, we will take you back in time, toasting marshmallows and swapping tales around an open fire.

Gin Ahoy - Thursday 11th May 2017 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Along with the events visitor favourites are back - like the Demonstration Kitchen, where the best and brightest of our region’s chefs show off their skills in FREE TO ATTEND Cook Off Challenges, Food Demonstrations and Food and Drink Master-Classes.
Hands on masterclasses for the budding master chefs in your family are also back by popular demand. Bobby’s Bangers, Gingers Comfort Emporium and Icky Sticky Cakes are just some of those lined up to offer these ever popular, hands-on masterclasses for children.
As if that wasn’t enough, Castlefield Food Festival has a packed, FREE TO ATTEND, 4 day music line up featuring the very best of local signed and un-signed musicians, bands, vocalists and performers.
