The survey of almost 6,000 readers ranked Britannia Hotels - who control 47 hotels including six in Manchester - as the worst hotels in the UK.
It is the second year running that the hotel group have propped up the table of 29 hotel providers.
Brittania scored a measly 33% customer score, ranked in categories including customer service, food, cleanliness and value for money.
This puts them a hefty 17% lower than the next worst performing hotel group, Old English Hotels with 50%.

Topping the table were Sofitel with 83% (who only have three hotels in the UK, all in the south), Premier Inn came a clase second with 82%, then Warner Leisure with 80%, and 78% for both Hampton by Hilton and Q Hotels - who run Manchester's luxury Midland Hotel.
Premier Inn, the most-used hotel chain, goes from strength to strength with an increase in last year’s customer score from 76% to 82%.
Which? travel editor Jill Starley-Grainger, said:
“It can be a bit of a lottery staying with popular UK hotel chains as there’s such a massive gap in standards between the best and worst. Hotels that have fared badly need to look at their customers’ feedback and learn where they need to up their game.”
In another investigation, Which? found that September was the cheapest month on average for a hotel stay.
Britannia Hotels have been approached but have so far not given any comment.
