HERE'S the full round-up of what's happening in the Black Dog Ballroom empire, from Valentine's prosecco through to the big Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

8 February – Half Full Charity Night – Black Dog NWS
This Friday 8 February sees the return of Half Full to the Underdog at Black Dog NWS. Half Full showcases the very best variety of house music and all proceeds will go to one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe, The Christie.

Acts include H2, Sy Chan, Oliver Drops and more, and entrance is £3 OTD. Remember, the glass isn’t half empty – it’s Half Full. Doors open at 10pm.

12 February – Pancake Day – Black Dog NQ
Flippin’ eck, get to Black Dog NQ on Shrove Tuesday for a man vs food style pancake eating competition. The rules? Contestants have to eat as many pancakes as possible in half an hour. 

It kicks off at 6.30pm, and for those who love pancakes but don’t wish to compete, there will be free pancakes all day. Step up to the challenge by contacting Tom@blackdogballroom.co.uk.

13 February – Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Pub Quiz – Black Dog NWS
February sees the return of Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Pub Quiz, which will be held on the roof terrace on the last Wednesday of every month. Manchester’s musical answer to Magnus Magnusson is renowned for his quirky quiz mastery, music and film based questions and pound shop prizes.

This Wednesday they'll be holding the quiz early as they have two tickets to the Kaiser Chiefs gig at the O2 Apollo on 15 February to give away. There is no limit to the number of people each team can have. To register a team contact Libby on libby@blackdognws.co.uk.

13 February – Whiskey Wednesday – Black Dog NQ
This month’s tasting evening will be all about American whiskey. There will be plenty of cocktails, samples and themed canapés, plus a whiskey expert will share their knowledge on brands such as Wild Turkey and Evan Williams.

14 February – Valentine's Day – Black Dog NQ
After a meal with your loved one, pop down to Black Dog NQ for the perfect dessert. All lovers will be able to purchase a bottle of prosecco and strawberries for just £20.

14 February – Valentine's Day – Black Dog NWS
Looking for somewhere to spend Valentines Day? Black Dog Ballroom NWS is offering a meal for two served with a carafe of house wine for just £12. No need to go dutch with that price.

28 February – Cocktails and Canapés – Black Dog NWS
The first of a new cocktails and canapés evening held on the last Thursday of every month. This month Leon Dalloway of Miller's Gin will be talking about the special cocktail created for the event and educating on all there is to know about gin.

The event starts at 6.45pm and all guests will be given a free gin cocktail upon arrival followed by speciality canapés. After this cocktails will be served in the ballroom for £4 until 10pm.

Easter Sunday Bank Holiday Weekend – 31 March
Jaymo and Andy George – Black Dog NWS
BBC Radio 1 regulars Jaymo and Andy George join resident Stu Richards for a Bank Holiday party all about new music.

Jaymo and Andy George have built an entire world… and that world is Moda. From an intimate gathering of music-loving friends, to thousands of people losing their minds in dark warehouses, disused theatres, abandoned cellars and globally renowned clubs; the venues may change but Moda's ethics stay the same. This is forward-thinking music, ground-breaking DJs and a party that will stay with you forever.

The party starts at 10pm and goes on ‘til 4am. Tickets are available from Skiddle for £7 or pay £5 on the door.

 

Every week

Thursday – Black Dog NQ – Transpennine Express
Our Thursday night party train, Transpennine Express, pulls into Black Dog NQ weekly starting at 10pm and chugging right through ‘til 4am.

With residents Krysko (WHP) and Will TRAMP! (WHP, Homoelectric) in the driving seat with support provided by Henry Bird, it’s one hell of a ride. Transpennine Express is free entry.

Friday – Black Dog NWS – Paid in Full
The new regular Friday nights at Black Dog Ballroom New Wakefield Street will see the decks taken over by DJ Da Funk and his blend of hip-hop, funk and dub-step.

Paid in Full will run weekly from 10pm – 4am and entry is £2.

Friday – Black Dog NQ – WhoSaidWhat?
Resident DJ Stuart Richards hosts WhoSaidWhat? every Friday at Black Dog NQ between 10pm and 4am. WhoSaidWhat? offers a night packed full of disco, funk and house with a few breaks along the way and even some hip hop and reggae to mix the night up a little.

Entry is free before 11pm.

Saturday – Black Dog NWS – WhoSaidWhat?
Black Dog NQ resident Stuart Richards brings his increasingly popular night to the Underdog on Saturdays between 10pm and 4am. WhoSaidWhat? offers a night packed full of disco, funk and house with a few breaks along the way and even some hip hop and reggae to mix the night up a little.

Entry is £2.

Saturday – Black Dog NQ – Neil Smallridge
Every Saturday Neil Smallridge embraces eclecticism as he blends and bends the genres, smoothly flowing between indie, disco, hip hop and house until 5am, with queues around the block every week.

The event runs until 4am and entry is free before 11pm.

Football – Black Dog Ballroom NWS
As things get interesting at the top of the table, keep up with the twists and turns of the football season at Black Dog Ballroom on New Wakefield Street. All England World Cup Qualifiers, Premier League and Champions League football matches shown on Sky Sports and ESPN will be shown live on our new big screen projector on the roof terrace.

Drinks offers include £3 cocktails, £2 bottles of Tuborg, £2 bottles of K2, and £3.20 bottles of Fresca.
