We get our mitts on the Uncle Sam special
BIRTHDAY burgers and beers are go at Byron hamburgers, celebrating ten years as the burger joint du jour. With six specials being rolled out over the summer, we decided to pop along to our nearest branch and give this fortnight’s pairing of burger and beer a whirl.
Each special will be paired with a limited-edition or brewed-just-for-Byron craft beer for the occasion
We got to grips with special #1, the Uncle Sam, which got the tenth anniversary proceedings underway on Independence Day. On the menu until 17 July, it’s a proper classic cheeseburger. With a juicy beef patty cooked pink and topped with delicious melted cheese, there’s also a generous dollop of tomato ketchup, some tasty French’s mustard for a bit of kick, and rounds of thinly sliced gherkins inside the nice and squishy glazed bun.
We washed our dinner down with this fortnight’s beer special: a chilled bottle of hoppy Hells USA, a limited-edition lager from Camden Brewery, adorned with a Statue of Liberty design. As the Birthday Bundle of a burger and beer are up for grabs for just £13, it’d be rude not to.
Next up on the specials is the Miami Slice, with spicy ’nduja and paprika ketchup, melty American cheese and super-crunchy shoestring fries, served on a toasted sourdough bun, with a pot of chicharrones (pork scratchings) on the side. Inspired by a visit to El Mago de las Fritas in Miami – the place for Cuban burgers – it goes on sale on 18 July until the end of the month, and, having heard great reports, we can’t wait!
Don’t miss out on the birthday burgers and beers from now until 25 September – watch this space at the end of the month for details of the next two Byron specials...
