IT will be Oktoberfest all year round, starting next week. The Bierkeller entertainment complex is arriving in Manchester after proving its worth in Liverpool and Leeds.
Opening in The Printworks on 15 August, it will be four bars in one venue. There is a specialist beer bar, a sports bar, a ski lodge bar, and a traditional Bavarian bierkeller complete with lederhosen-clad staff, steins of beer, and live oompah bands.
The Bierkeller's Around The World Bar is the one for beer geeks. It will serve 100-plus beers from over 80 countries plus food from across the globe, such as kangaroo burgers and quesadillas. There will be live music daily.
The Shooters Sports Bar will be the biggest sports bar in Manchester, able to show three live sporting events at once across twenty HD-TVs and a 3m by 3m projector screen.
The live coverage here should be a real bonus for sports fans in the city centre. Bierkeller will broadcast everything from football (including 3pm Premier League matches) to NBA to cricket to tennis to golf to boxing, from open till close. There will also be pool tables, darts, games machines, and reserved seating if you book ahead.
In the Ski Lodge, a ground floor entrance bar, you can enjoy food and drinks from your favourite ski destinations.
The traditional Bavarian Bierkeller looks like the bar to choose for a big, boozy night out. You'll be able to order huge steins of beer and watch live oompah bands every weekend, with staff in traditional lederhosen and dirndls. There will be live entertainment every night in here.
With bench-style seating for up to 200 people, beer served by the keg (or the glass, if you prefer), and table service available, The Manchester Bierkeller will be one of those places where you can't help getting merry. Prost!
