In 1997 a film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose took the world by storm; scooping two Oscars and three BAFTAs. This stage adaption (including live todgers) comes from Simon Beaufoy, the writer of the film, and award-winning director Roger Haines who took Calendar Girls to theatres across the country. A GAME OF SEVENS
International Ruggers for as little as £10 a ticket. England, Wales and Scotland line up against some of Europe's top teams in the Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford. Spread over two days on Sat 13 to Sun 14 September, twelve European teams will battle it out in back-to-back rugby matches during the third leg of the tournament. The competition will conclude in Bucharest on September 20 and 21.

BUMPY RIDE
From Friday 12 to Sun 14 September, Chill Factore is to host the world’s first ever FIS European and British Indoor Mogul Championships. The International Ski Federation (FIS) sanctioned event will see Europe’s best and bravest skiers tackle the specially built course on the UK’s longest real-snow ski slope.

DJ YODA'S BREAKFAST CLUB
Over 150 applications submitted to take part in this one-off mammoth residency at Band on the Wall, and DJ Yoda and his team have now chosen 'what they believe to be some of the finest artists from across the country'. On Monday 15 September DJ Yoda will meet with thirteen of the selected musicians, vocalists and visual artists to work together over five intensive days to create a new and totally original performance live at Band on the Wall on Friday 19th September 9pm to 2am. A rare and distinctive performance.

RAE OF SUNSHINE
This Blackpool-born singer-songwriter is teetering on the verge of the big leagues. With over two million youtube hits under her skirt, some big name collaborations including a performance on Jools Holland alongside Clean Bandit and headline slots at Reading and Leeds Festivals, this 21-year-old has had a pretty nifty 2014. Her debut album is due out in late-2014 to early-2015. Eyes on this one.

RAMMY GOES WILD
For one weekend a year, well, two if you include Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival, the people from the West Pennine Moors valley town of Ramsbottom throw off the shackles and go ape shit on the hallowed ground of Ramsbottom Cricket Club. From Fri 19 to Sun 21 September Rammy Fest will be bringing an eclectic mix of international musicians, local talent, DJs, jugglers, cooks, brewers, artists, piss-artists and thespians.
