THE BBC have commissioned a new three-part documentary, Salford Dreams United (working title), following former Manchester United stars Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Gary Neville as they take control of amateur Evo-Stick North club Salford City FC.
"Right now at this local club it feels like anything could happen.”
The 'Class of '92' (main image) bought a 50% stake in the club (10% each) in March 2014, with Singapore billionaire and United fan, Peter Lim - who nearly bought Liverpool for £320m in 2010 - buying the remaining 50% in September 2014 (read here).
The documentary follows the famous quintet as they get stuck into every aspect of the 75-year-old club, from the grass-seed budget to making tea at half-time, building 'Barman Buck' a new clubhouse to the controversial decision to change 'The Ammies' home colours from red to orange.

Following the acquisition attendances at the club have jumped nearly 100%, from an average of 150 fans in 2013/14 to 292 this season, putting Salford City FC just above AFC Totton (avg. 287) and just below Burgess Hill Town FC (avg. 318).
According to the documentary blurb, the Class of '92 'dream of turning Salford City FC in to a new model for all football clubs - rooted in the community, discovering untapped talent, and turning local players into heroes.'
Documentary producer Meredith Chambers said: “This series promises to be fascinating. Every Saturday at a small ground in Salford, people with so many different dreams and passions come together for 90 minutes, now they will be joined by some of the biggest names in world football. Right now at this local club it feels like anything could happen.”
The documentary will air on BBC One later this year.
