The runaway train that is Art Battle Manchester will stop at Escape to Freight Island on Friday 28 January.
In the remains of Mayfield Railway Station, the new music, arts and culture venue has fast become Manchester’s premier entertainment space. Art Battle Manchester will turn this hugely popular urban playground into Paint Island for one evening only. From 7pm-11pm, expect a frenetic face-off with brushes at the ready.
Since it started in 2013, Art Battle Manchester has delivered 18 sell-out events across the city, never using the same venue twice. They clearly have a penchant for bringing this offbeat and lively event to some stunning buildings as recent venues include London Road Fire Station, Albert Hall, The Royal Exchange, Victoria Baths and an array of historic mills and warehouses.
Art Battle XVIII - Next Stop Freight Island will feature ten new fearless artists taking centre stage. A capacity crowd will watch painters, illustrators, tattooists and street artists go head to head in what has been described as the city’s most energetic art event. With only 30 minutes to create a masterpiece – YOU decide who is crowned champion. It’s immersive, interactive and totally unlike anything else.
Ready yourself for some rock and roll art with skill of the gallery and the buzz of the nightclub. Expect art, music, live performances and always expect the unexpected. Art Battle secret shenanigans are all part of the draw.
This is always a sell-out event and it’s nearly sold out so look lively.
