FROM Stella McCartney to Donatella Versace, designer/high street collaborations are the new in thing. So when acclaimed young designer Richard Nicoll proposed the idea of a modern, affordable “alternative to meringue culture” wedding dress collection to Topshop, the high street giant didn’t hesitate in saying ‘I do’.
The Tie The Knot collection - comprising seven dresses, both full-length and short – isn’t obviously bridal, but is an effortlessly pure look for 21st century hipster brides.
The collection of wedding dresses, which according to Nicoll are “marketed as bridal but would equally be suitable as bridesmaid or cocktail dresses", is Topshop’s first venture into the bridal wear market.
The Tie The Knot collection - comprising seven dresses, both full-length and short – isn’t obviously bridal, but is an effortlessly pure look for 21st century hipster brides.
Featuring delicate lace and silk dresses in both white and pink, prices range from £75 to £350. This may not be the biggest and best dress of your life, but that’s not what the Topshop collection is about. The look is bohemian and best suited to brides steering clear of the traditional big white wedding and opting for their own version of events.
The collection is set to launch online at Topshop.com on June 15.
Of course Topshop isn’t the only high street store cashing in on the bridal market. We’ve scoured the high street to find wedding dresses for brides on a budget, whether your style’s more Kate Moss or Kate Middleton....
