ALISON Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas will bring their Paper Airplane Tour 2012 to the O2 Apollo Theatre, Manchester on Friday 13 July. The concert follows their appearances on Later With Jools Holland, the hugely oversubscribed  BBC Radio 2, Mermaid Theatre ‘In Concert’ series and This Morning TV show late in 2011.

Alison Krauss bridges the gap between roots music and country, rock and pop. A highly sought-after collaborator, Krauss has worked with some of the biggest names in popular music, including Robert Plant, James Taylor, Dolly Parton and Bonnie Raitt.  Since signing with Rounder Records at the age of 14, Krauss has sold in excess of 12 million albums.

In April, 2011, Rounder Records released the eagerly anticipated Alison Krauss and Union Station album, Paper Airplane, Krauss’ 14th album and the band’s follow-up to 2004’s triple Grammy winning Lonely Runs Both Ways (and accompanying  sold out 2005 UK tour including two nights at Hammersmith Apollo.
