The masters of the statement cocktail, Alchemist, reveal plans to open in September
The Alchemist’s eleventh venue is set to be their most distinctive yet, with a futuristic £1.2m design making a statement with eye-catching design both inside and out.
The new cocktail bar and restaurant, designed in conjunction with Manchester-based Reid Architects and construction specialists, the Artez Group, is located in a prime waterside location, on the bridge between The Lowry Theatre and MediaCityUK.
The 4,900 square foot space will have room for 96 covers and features a dazzling gold clad roof, angular blackened steel walls and a bronze bar.
The aim was for the building to reflect the energetic and creative environment of Salford Quays; its regeneration and development, high rise office blocks and global investment.
The bar extends from the interior to wrap around the enclosed outdoor terrace making it ideal for al fresco drinking and dining and offering sweeping views of the water and the surrounding area.
Due to launch at the beginning of September, Alchemist will be open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their carefully crafted drinks menu involves a signature cocktail selection including classics such as the Smokey Old Fashioned and new additions such as the Battenberg.
The group is renowned for sourcing and using the finest ingredients, coupled with molecular drinks-making techniques designed to 'surprise and confound' (in a good way).

Alchemist was established in Spinningfields in 2009, with flagship Living Ventures venue kicking off the food and drink rush in the district. the group now operates ten sites across the UK including London, Birmingham, Leeds and Newcastle.
