BOXING fans, enter this competition from The Genting Club to win a pair of VIP tickets to what looks set to be an electrifying fight night.
The headline clash is between Manchester's former two times British Champion David Barnes and hotly-tipped youngster Ronnie Heffron.
The meeting of these two popular North West fighters will see Heffron placing his perfect record at stake as he takes a leap in class to tackle Barnes, who was once considered one of British boxings’ brightest young stars.
With wins over respected names such as Kevin McIntyre and James Hare, Barnes was a prominent figure during Manchester's boxing boom of the last decade.
Says the promoter of Made in Manchester, David Coldwell, "The beauty of this fight is that both boxers are going in there with a point to prove. Ronnie is the youngster with a lot of hype and he has to beat Barnes if he is to fulfil all those expectations. For David, he wants to win the Lonsdale title again, and if he's to do that, he has to be defeating the young prospects who want his spot.”
The Made in Manchester night also features the return of Matthew Hatton and the professional debut of Anthony Jevons.
The Made in Manchester event takes place on 12 October at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, near the Trafford Centre. Find out more here.
The prize is donated by The Genting Club – one of the sponsors of Made in Manchester. The Genting Club has had a multi million pound refurbishment this year. The former Circus Casino is now an impressive entertainment and gaming destination for Manchester.
