BENCH is launching a concept store in the Northern Quarter that will act, not only as a shop, but as a space to showcase Bench Self Made talents and encourage community projects.
As well as seeing new talent, exclusive product previously unavailable in the UK will feature in-store, along with a range of limited edition lines and collaboration products.
The store will open on Thursday 20 September. Those lucky enough to attend the launch will not only be the first to step foot in the new shop, but also see the exhibition of work from the entrants to Bench's Self Made campaign, which aims to champion cultural innovators.
Previous successful Self Made candidates have included jewellery designers, custom bicycle makers, pirate radio upstarts and independent record labels.
Winners will be given funding to show their talent to the world, be featured in the Bench brandbook and be given the opportunity to work with a team of leading mentors.
Bench itself is a self-made brand, having evolved from a bunch of Mancunian friends selling their own t-shirt designs, owing explanations as to why they salute those individuals who are not afraid of getting their hands dirty to build a future.
As well as seeing new talent, exclusive product previously unavailable in the UK will feature in-store, along with a range of limited edition lines and collaboration products. The basement gallery will also feature wi-fi, seating and meeting spaces to encourage people to use the creative space to its full potential. There will also be food, drinks and live music on the night.
We are giving away three pairs of tickets that guarantee entrance to the launch night of the Bench store on Thursday 20 September from 6pm-9pm. Winners will also receive a goody bag containing a Bench tote, Vice magazine, Bench fragrance and Bench accessory.
