'A gourmet garden party in the heart of the city' – we like the sound of this year's Manchester Picnic, which spreads out its blankets in Piccadilly Gardens on 2-4 August.

They'll be serving up everything from sushi to Spanish doughnuts to Tibetan street snacks

It's the fourth annual outdoor eating fest for Manchester. Last year's event attracted 25,000 picnic-ers over three days. If this weather holds, this year's will smash that.

The food comes from the region's tastiest street food purveyors. You can tuck into everything from sushi to Spanish doughnuts to Tibetan street snacks. Stalls will include Chiquito’s Mexican, Chilli Banana's Thai street food, Fish and Co's gourmet fish and chips, and Fire and Slice Pizza, amongst many others.

It's a family-friendly event with face-painting, giant Jenga, Baby Ballet and Twinkle the Bear. Plus Unity FM DJs and vintage sounds to add to the celebratory vibe.

Manchester Picnic takes place in Piccadilly Gardens from 2-4 August, from midday-7pm daily.
