AH gin. Once upon a time this spirit - dubbed ‘Mother’s Ruin’ - was seen as the sort of drink that would have your auntie sobbing in the corner at parties.

But now, gin is a whole lot more fashionable, thanks to an abundance of new and wonderful specialities hitting the market.

To get you up to speed on the delights of gin in its many forms, the folk at Artisan Kitchen and Bar are hosting this Ladies gin tasting in association with Hunters.

Hunters is a premium gin developed in our very own Cheshire.  Made in traditional copper pot and rectifying stills, Hunters gin is flavoured with botanicals including juniper from the Balkans, French angelica, Spanish lemon peel and Florentine orris root.

The gin tasting will be held in the studio space at Artisan in Spinningfields, a laid back venue with a stripped back, artist loft vibe and a focus on sculptures, murals and art installations.

And Artisan are offering a free space to one reader and a plus one – ladies only, sorry guys – at this much anticipated evening.

Hunters will provide the specialised gin knowledge while you just relax and sample gin-based cocktails, enjoy delicious canapés, get your mitts on some samples and quiz the experts about your favourite tipple.

Sounds like the perfect girls night to us.
