From Taylor Swift to Chappell Roan, Liam Gallagher to The Killers, here are this year’s artists up for awards
Today, MTV has revealed the highly-anticipated nominations for this year’s EMAs, taking place right here in Manchester at Co-op Live on 10 November.
Taylor Swift leads the pack having accumulated a whopping seven nominations, closely followed by fellow pop princesses Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Charli xcx and Sabrina Carpenter who all scored five each.
With four nominations each, Arya Starr, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, LISA, and first-time nominees Chappell Roan and Tyla are all ones to watch.
Don’t worry though, our city’s own musical prowess gets its moment in the limelight with Mancunian legend Liam Gallagher going head to head with Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz and The Killers in the “Best Rock” category.
Nineteen fresh-faced nominees will also have the chance to score their first ever MTV EMA at this year’s show, including Kehlani and Tinashe in the “Best R&B” category and Fontaines D.C up for “Best Alternative”.
Now in its 30th year, the award ceremony makes a triumphant return to the UK, making brand-new multi million-pound venue Co-op Live its home, marking the first time ever that music’s biggest global celebration has been staged in Manchester.
Starting today, fans can vote for their favourite bands and artists at www.mtvema.com - votes will be counted until 00:00 CET on November 6.
The 2024 MTV EMAs will broadcast at 9pm GMT Sunday 10 November on MTV UK, Channel 5 and Pluto TV, and will be available on demand on Paramount+ from 12 November.
